A Twist on the Classic Margarita

Cinco de Mayo is upon us! Margaritas are always a hit on this Latin holiday, but why not try something a little different this year. Start with the always-delicious classic margarita recipe, add a little special something and voilà – a French Margarita.

French Margarita

  • 1-1/2 oz. premium silver or blanco tequila
  • 3/4 oz. orange liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • Agave nectar /simple syrup* (optional)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 oz. Chambord
  • Wheel of lime, orange slice or a few fresh raspberries (garnish)

Shake tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and optional agave nectar/simple syrup with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or ice-filled margarita glass. Top with Chambord. Garnish with a wheel of lime, orange slice or a few fresh raspberries.

*Depending on the tartness of your limes or if you prefer a sweeter drink, add a bit of agave nectar or simple syrup to taste.

Chambord is a little pricey, but the bottle is oh-so-beautiful in your vintage cocktail bar. Plus, there are lots of ways to use it in more wonderful cocktails. Stay tuned to our blog and we’ll bring you more recipes featuring Chambord that will take you all the way through the summer!

Please drink responsibly. Enjoy!
