State-of-the-Art Home Theater in Chesterfield, MO

We are delighted to finally share the professional photographs of a state-of-the-art lower level home theater we built in Chesterfield, Missouri. It’s a movie buff’s dream. If you remember, we worked with the homeowners to create a beautiful home theater in a small and awkwardly shaped unfinished area of their finished lower level. Check out the previous blogs for the whole story HERE and HERE

A beautiful entry area to the lower level theater sets the tone. It features decorative lighting designed for movie posters and a refreshment area with microwave, undercounter refrigerator and counter space for a popcorn machine, of course.

The theater is outfitted with technology and lighting by Custom Design & Installation (CDI) to enhance performance and aesthetics of the small space. For example, the room features a 110” THX-certified audio transparent screen to allow audio to pass through from hidden speakers, a Mozaex media storage system, a unique projector with a resolution of over 7 million pixels and six different light groups. And everything can be controlled by the touch of a button on an iPad.

-          Decorative features enhance the  environment of the room and recreate a realistic theater experience – cherry wood paneling, lighted tray ceiling, decorative light fixtures and carpeting, and elevated floor seating with comfortable chairs.

-          Lutron lighting system allows you to interface with iPad. Assign specific lighting arrangements for different moods and modes with a push of a button; Create a theme for an event – party theme, movie-watching, sporting event.

-          Six different light groups associated with controller – rope lights, incandescents, sconces, can lights, floor lights, specialized trax lighting for movie posters in vestibule and hall. They can be dealt with individually – dim slowly or brighten as slow or as fast as you want.

-          For sound control, DH Custom Homes insulated the walls and ceiling with acoustical sound batts, used resilient sound-channel drywall and applied custom decorative acoustical panels by Golterman & Sabo.

Beautiful granite top across bar with stools for casual traffic in and out of room.

We thank the homeowners for allowing us the opportunity to take these photographs after everything was completed and for the opportunity to do another lower level renovation for them, which is currently underway.
